Please reference the dates next to each task as this. Quicken 2015 for Mac let’s you plan and manage your taxable investments. The software syncs to real-time stock quotes to keep your net worth up to I am currently using Quicken 2003.I now have a MAC & want to upgrade. What I need is to be able to manually enter transactions into a “register”. George, this thread was about Quicken for Mac, but the answer for Windows should be the same in this case. If/when you feel up to contacting Quicken Support again, they should give you Quicken 2017 for free. I know for people who bought Quicken 2016 as a download in the past few weeks, they simply put a download of Quicken 2017 in your Quicken.com account. I'm not sure if they do the same if you purchased a disk; it may depend whether you bought it directly from Quicken or from some other retail store. For certain, you are able to return your Quicken for a full refund, and then purchase the new Quicken 2017 -- the issue is whether they will save you those extra steps and simply give you a copy of 2017. But your best course of action is to contact Quicken Support, by phone or chat, explain that you just purchased Quicken 2016, and that you would like to 'exchange' it for Quicken 2017. Since wait times tend to be unusually long right after a new annual release comes out, do it at a time you can do something else while waiting, or try to call at the start of the day (phone) or late at night (chat) to avoid the busiest parts of the day.
Wait another year and see if they add enough features and value for you that you're willing to pay for it. My only other advice is to try to cast off the gripes over the way Intuit mistreated Quicken for Mac and its users going back over the past decade. The company has been sold and is no longer run by Intuit, the entire management team and development team has turned over in the past five years, and nothing they do can undo the problems in the years before that. To be sure, everyone should evaluate Quicken's fitness for their individual needs on its own merits (or faults); just try to do so without dwelling on the baggage of the past. I may get flack for this but it is not Quicken's fault that QEM does not launch with Sierra, as unfortunate as it may be. QEM was developed back in 2010 and stopped updates around 2012. Why would you require that it work with an OS that is 4 years newer?
